Beginners welcome! Qigong is "energy work" or "energy skill" and is an ancient traditional Chinese meditative movement practice consisting of slow gentle flowing movements, stillness, breathwork, and visualizations for total mind, body, and spirit wellbeing. In Qigong, everything is made up of energy which can be further divided into yin and yang energetic forces. Yin energy is the moon, Earth, darkness, coolness, non doing, being, feminine and receiving and Yang energy is the sun, cosmos, lightness, warmth, doing, acting, masculine and giving. The Summer Solstice is the time of year when the Yang energies are at their Peak! A time to connect with the vibrant energies of the Sun while skillfully balancing the Fire within. This time of the year it is all about embodying the Peak Yang energetic forces for greater welbeing, health and harmony! In this class, you will be guided through a series of simple targeted gentle meditative movements to balance and plug into the Peak Yang Sun energies of the Summer Solstice! A great way to connect and to restore greater energetic vitality. Join this fun and light hearted class from outdoors or in a bright indoor space and move your Qi!
